“The worst flu he’s had in decades.” The doctor said .

Santa looked over to the elves. “I’m driving the sleigh.” he said in his weakened, raspy voice .
As Santa tried to rise, the doctor held him in place “You’ll stay here.” The doctor spoke with authority.” “You have no choice.”
Santa sat up and attempted to argue the point.“ Lie down!” the doctor bellowed.

“All hands on deck. Time to load up to sleigh.” They were all shocked to hear Santa’s wife.
Elves from all over the North Pole ran to the toy shop to see what’s In the world was going on.
There, Mrs. Claus was found dressed in a slimmer Santa suit and ordering the troops “Quickly, men, Load up the toys. We’ve only got until Dawn.”
“You’ve never driven this before” said one elf. Another spoke up “You’ll never finish on time.”
Mrs. Claus shouted to the growing group for silence and paused briefly. “If we don’t try. That’ll be the true crime.”
“Santa’s been relying on you to make the toys. He’s been making deliveries longer than any of us can remember.

She quickly dispelled the thought, knowing what was at stake. Then, she was startled to see a little man outside the Sleigh.
It was the stable keeper who attended the reindeer. Mrs. Claus smiled “You may have helped me save Christmas day.”
“Me?” He said in shock. “I’ve never driven this sleigh before.” She cut him off before he could say another word.
“They’ll listen to you. You’ve rode them individually. Now, you’ll drive them as a group.” Excited to be of help on this Important day, he ran to the stables to harness the herd.
Sunset was coming. The sleigh was ready. The reindeer were harnessed and itchy to fly
Mrs. Claus sat in the sleigh, the stable keeper by her side. With all the toymakers watching, Mrs. Claus signaled to open the gates and the stable keeper let out of booming cry.

Santa tried to stand, But, was still weak. He motioned for his wife to come near.
“You saved Christmas.” He gave her a passionate hug .“How would you like to ride with me next year ?”
Mrs. Claus thought briefly “We’ll talk about it later. It’s been a long day and it’s getting late .”
Pausing .“Besides.” She said with a smile that Santa knew all too well. “We have our own Christmas to celebrate.”
Like a bolt of lightening, Santa was up in a flash. He put out his arm and she took it and held it tight .
As they walked out of the infirmary to go home. Santa shouted back to the doctor .
“Spread the word. Our house is off limits for the week.” He looked back to his wife with a smile then wished the doctor a happy Christmas and a good night .
